National Security Team about to be Unveiled.

It’s like Monday night football…rolling out all the big guns.  Okay, so it’s Monday morning, but whatever!  It’s my blog and I liked it, so I’m going with it.  Here’s a preview of the National Security Team line up…

Roberts Gates will be staying on as Secretary of Defense.  I’m not sure for how long.  I’m hoping for the first year, and then we’ll just have to see how that goes.

Hillary Clinton will be named as Secretary of State.  I think this will be a huge step up from what we’ve had…

Marine Gen. Jim Jones named as the National Security Adviser at the White House.

Susan Rice named as the United Nations Ambassador.

Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano will be named as the Homeland Security Secretary.

Eric Holder will be named as Attorney General.

It will definitely be interesting to see all these egos coexist!  If Barack Obama can do it, I have high hopes for his Presidency.  Even if he can’t get them to toe the line all the time, it’ll still make for a good read.

Secretary of State…

Man.  This appointment has gotten a ton of press.  Perhaps due to the facination with all things Obama, and perhaps due to the players being considered.  Hillary Clinton, Bill Richardson, and John Kerry…none of these players are small potatoes.

Interestingly enough I was just talking about the HRC accepting the position.  Three of the women at my table were pretty sure she’d take the position, I was pretty unsure.  I just don’t see what it does for her.  She gets to be Hillary in the Senate, as Sec of State she’s Obama’s point man…or woman in this case.  Not to mention health care may be on the table soon, and I would think she’d want a piece of that.

Now I’m a big HRC fan, so I’ll be happy regardless…but I’m guessing no at this point.  If I’m wrong, I’m sure someone will be so kind as to point it out for me!

Clinton – Secretary of State??

Hmmm…that’s one I had thought of, but I didn’t think it was even possible.  I know relations between the Obama and Clinton campaign were strained at times.  I also wasn’t sure Senator Clinton would want to leave her meaty committees in the Senate…

Coleman and Franken Continue to Duke it Out.

Well good times ahead for the state of Minnesota.  I can’t even believe the good people of Minnesota would elect Norm Coleman once, let alone twice.  Although it is too early to tell.  About 200 votes separate the candidates.  Nearly 2.5 million people voted in this senate seat election.

I do find it ironic the Republicans have found themselves in their own version of Democratic Hell.  Remember Katherine Harris of Florida?  UGH!  As if any of us could forget, right?!  Well they are now alleging Minnesota’s Secretary of State Mark Ritchie is a Communist!   HAHAHA.  Does this sound familiar?  When you can’t win fairly make up allegations.  I wonder, did they come up with this all on their own, or did Congresswoman Bachmann give them the idea.

Give ’em Hell Al!!

By the way Norm, it aint over till the fat lady sings, and I ain’t singin yet!

I sure hope so. I was just saying to my husband the other night I’d like to see him as the next Secretary of State…
