Big Three Auto Wankers

So I came across this comment today and I wanted to respond.  I had originally planned on just commenting, but I’ve decided to make it post of its own.  The comment is in response to a prior post about the Big Three Auto CEOs (or wankers as they should be titled) and the Senate Republicans that killed the auto deal.

To give good story and history…Here is my prior post…

Perhaps a more appropriate title should be:  “Two of the Big Three getting Minuscule Amount of Relief.   I’m still pretty torn about bailing out the Big Three.  I do think their CEOs should be fired.  So should much of their top managers for that matter.  They’ve done a crap job.  They do not deserve the outrageous amount of pay they get nor their bonuses.  However, I do not think putting 3 million more people into the unemployment line sounds like a good idea.

I also find the political posturing that is taking place right now to be a lot more than a little sickening!  Seriously.  Other than DeMint (SC-R), which one of the 5 Republicans making waves about the $14 billion auto bail out said one word about the $700 billion Wall Street bailout?!  Did any of them cry out when AIG continued to party on the tax payers dollars…uhhhh…NO!  No they did not.  Bastards.  And does anyone else find it curious the Alabama senators are so adamant about calling off the bailout???  Isn’t it Alabama that has a HUGE Toyota plant?  Just asking!

I also wonder why no one questions blue collar job loss, but a junk bond salesman loses his job and man oh man it’s a big deal.

Just one of my many angry rants of today.

Now following is the comment.  I would like to thank crowded hours for posting.  I don’t agree with his/her post.  I think they missed the fundamental point of my post.  However, it does give me the opportunity to crawl back up on my soap box and try to make my point once again.  For that I truly do thank him/her!

Hi Smart, Liberal and Female! Haven’t been to your site in a while so thought I’d see what was on your mind!

Always blaming the Republicans and the CEOs? I find it curious Dems and the media rarely bring up the unions…

No secret that the UAW is holding their employers financial hostage (and by default, the country).

And it’s no shock that unions are going to lambaste the Republicans and favor the Democrat party. The Democrats enable the unions to financially hold the auto industry hostage while the Republicans feel that enough is enough with these unions. The auto industry isn’t failing because of bad leadership. It’s failing because it can’t make a profit while paying all these union full-pensions and ridiculous benefits. I applaud the Republican minority for standing up for what’s right.

Why is it that the Republicans are being demonized as the ones torpedoing this bailout? How about exploring the root cause, which is the UAW that won’t budge an inch. If the auto industry fails, it won’t be the Republican Party’s fault. It will be the unions.

On the other side of the aisle, the Democrats are nothing but paid accomplices. They’re not standing for principle. They’re standing to make a buck or a million. This year the UAW gave $1.9 million to Democrats but only $11,500 to Republicans. Why? Because they knew that the Democrats don’t have a conscience and would support the highest bidder in this battle.

Shameful.

And finally here is my response….

I wouldn’t go as far as saying I always blame the Republicans and CEOs, but when the shoe fits….

Why do I blame CEOs?  Well they are steering the ship so to speak.  When I was in the Navy if a ship ran aground who was responsible?  The Commanding Officer, that’s who!  Why, because ultimately he is responsible for the direction of the ship…much like a CEO.  If the CEO isn’t responsible for the company, its direction, and well being, why on earth are they making so damn much money?  Are they only responsible when things go right???

It really is the HYPOCRACY of it that makes me so angry.  Did we demand employees of Wall Street take pay cuts?  NO.  Did we ask them to make concessions regarding their retirements?  NO!   Did we suggest they should let go of some of their health benefits?  NO.

AIG threw damn parties on our dollar and we gave them more money.  I don’t remember Senate Republicans showing outrage over that.  I don’t remember Bob Corker demanding they tell us when they’d take pay cuts, do you?  I didn’t think so.

I’m not blaming all Senate Republicans.  I’m blaming a few. In fact I singled out five, which even though your numbers are dwindling I think you will agree is not ALL Senate Republicans.  I even went on to say DeMint has a valid point…remember he didn’t like the Wall Street bailout either.  I’m on my high horse about hypocrites.  I’m on my high horse about the fact that blue collar workers and the unions have to bend over and take it in the ass, yet again (they already made concessions in 2007), while investment bankers, junk bond salesmen, insurance salesmen, and gamblers get a totally free pass.

As for the union… I know it’s shameful that they are fighting for living wage jobs and decent health care.  Damn them.

To me that is what is fundamentally wrong with this country.  We value too many of the wrong things.

No, not really a bummer.  Republicans are complaining John McCain isn’t helping them enough. What?  Should he come to your state and talk about deregulating the financial industry some more?  Or maybe about the tax cuts to the wealthy?  Or perhaps he could campaign on his half ass health care “plan” and how he wans to tax the health care benefits we have?   Or even how he is John McSame – as – Bush?  I’m not sure how he could help.  Well he could help the Democrats more by campaigning with them!

haha

McCain’s Full of Crap and so is His Campaign!

Apparently the Obama Campaign as well as the McCain Campaign were in Pennsylvania today.  McCain’s political director Mike Duhaime (you may remember him from the failed Giulliani campaign) claims that Democrats are reaching out to other Democrats and leading them to John McCain.  He also alleges that bus loads of Dems came in from New Jersey and New York to see John McCain.

Well Duhaime, I’m calling your bluff.  I say you are full of shit.  I’m calling you a liar!!  But hey, you seem to be a great loser, so keep on with your big bad self.

I’m also amused by what the McCain campaign is trying to sell for health care.  Individuals will get a $2,500 tax credit and families will get a $5,000 tax credit to purchase insurance.  Uh, too bad you can’t buy health insurance for that, unless you are talking a simple major med policy, which only covers catastrophes not routine visits or medication.  But whatever, I know you don’t deal in facts now do ya???

I also would like to point out the campaign has not been toting they plan on taxing the health insurance you get from your employer.  Jeez guys, that’s great.  Lets give the wealthy more tax cuts and tax the shit out of me.

That’s right working class middle Americans, John McCain and his fellow Republicans want to tax your health care!  While Barack Obama is talking about middle class tax cuts, John McSame wants to screw you some more!!!

Thanks, but no thanks Senator McCain, I’m going to vote for Obama!!!

Obama: Terrorist to Socialist in a Little Over a Month

You really gotta hand it to John McCain and Sarah Palin.  I mean really.  Their imginations are enormous.  Their willingness spread hate and fear knows no boundaries.  First he’s a terrorist, now he’s a socialist.  What’s next….Communist.  Oh Hell, Michelle Bachmann already beat you to that inuendo didn’t she?  Or maybe we could go with Maoist.  (Governor Palin, by the way, if you don’t know what that is you can google it!)

Damn that Barack Obama and Joe Biden.  They want you to be able to send your kids to college.  They want to give the middle class a break on their taxes.  They want the wealth 3% of this country to pay their fair share in taxes.  They want to slow down pollutants that cause the green house effect.  They want to ensure everyone in this country has access to affordable health care.  They want women to be able to control their bodies.

Damn their liberal asses.  Why on earth would anyone want any of that???

John McCain and His Anti-Woman Stances…

I’ve copied and pasted an email I got from Planned Parenthood.  Now I could go on and on about the great things PP does for women – birth control, testing, counselling…okay okay you get it as my kid would say!

Take a minute to read how our not so good friend has been screwing us in the Senate.  I think the only thing extreme about women’s health care right now is how little John McSame has done for it.

Dear Alyssa,

I about fell out of my chair when I heard John McCain say this during the presidential debate last night:

“Just again, the example of the eloquence of Sen. Obama. He’s ‘health for the mother.’ You know, that’s been stretched by the pro-abortion movement in America to mean almost anything. That’s the extreme pro-abortion position, quote, ‘health.'”
— Sen. John McCain, during presidential debate

Since when did women’s health become extreme?

What’s really extreme here is that John McCain doesn’t understand that women’s health matters.

What John McCain said last night, in front of millions of viewers, was belittling to women. He not only mocked Barack Obama for supporting women’s health, he mocked women across the country. The debate last night was just the most vivid example of what we’ve known all along: John McCain is out of touch on women’s health.

The simple fact is that we need a president who wants to protect and promote women’s health, not ridicule it. If John McCain doesn’t understand that, then he’s not prepared to govern this country.

Remember, this is not the only example where John McCain doesn’t get it when it comes to women’s health.

Just a couple months back, McCain had the deer-in-the-headlights look, and couldn’t answer whether he thought it was fair that insurance companies that cover Viagra should also cover birth control.

And, remember the time when McCain was asked whether he thought condoms helped stopped the spread of HIV? McCain’s response, “You’ve stumped me.”

And there’s more. Let’s count the ways that John McCain is out of touch on women’s health and women’s rights:

He’s voted 125 times against women’s health.
He wants to overturn Roe v. Wade.
He opposes funding to prevent unintended and teen pregnancies.
He opposes requiring health care plans to cover birth control.
He opposes equal pay legislation, saying it wouldn’t do “anything to help the rights of women.”
He’s proposed a health care plan that will be worse for women.
Barack Obama, on the other hand, gets it. Obama talked about commonsense proposals to prevent unintended pregnancy. He talked about a woman, along with her family and her doctor, deciding what is best for her health care.

The simple fact is that Barack Obama is a passionate advocate for women’s rights, and has a long and consistent record of standing up for women’s health care. As president, he will improve access to quality health care for women, support and protect a woman’s right to choose, support comprehensive sex education to keep our young people healthy and safe, and invest in prevention programs, including family planning services and breast cancer screenings.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Women voting for John McCain is like chickens voting for Col. Sanders.

As I watch the Debate I think, “Liar Liar You are Engulfed in Flames”

John “I’m a total Liar” McCain, you should be ashamed of yourself.

1. Claiming that you lead regulation of anything but campaign finance.

Tell me John “I am lying deceitful phony balony” McCain (did I go too far? Nah, I didn’t think so either) still want to deregulate health care like you did the financial industry…

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/09/23/fact-check-does-mccain-really-want-to-deregulate-health-care/

The best part of this..John “I love Wall Street” McCane doesn’t want to deregulate health care as extensively as he did the financial industry. Come on now, why not…it’s worked so well for you so far.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

2. Remember McCain’s allegation that Obama has gotten all the money from Fannie and Freddie…WRONG AGAIN MY FRIENDS…Oh and do we like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac…apparently John “See no Truth, Speak No Truth, am unable to Hear Truth” McCain does…

3. Now McCain demonstrates Obama’s inability to lead troops…oh wait YET ANOTHER LIE! STRIKE THREE TONIGHT SENATOR YOU ARE OUT!
