What’s Next From the RNC Chairman Candidates???

Well it’s been a good year for the Republican National Committee…or not.  Hahahaha.

So I posted earlier about the South Carolina Republican Chair , Katon Dawson, belonging to a whites only golf course, resigned from the course, and then decided to run for the Chair of the RNC.  The whole thing to me seemed like well…not a good idea…but this just gets better and better.

Chip Saltsman (Tennessee Chair running for RNC chair) sent RNC votiing members the parody CD “We Hate the USA” for Christmas.  The cd included the song…Barack the Magic Negro.  Uh…really?  Yes.  And guess what!?  He’s defending his actions.  Hmm…really?  YES!  hahaha.  It’s funny he claims.  Uh…not really!  Well what is funny is that he thinks he’d be a good national party leader!

And they wonder why they’ve become the party of hatred and fear.  I can’t say that I wonder one little bit.

Will there be ANYONE left in to Govern…

by the time Obama is done naming his picks?  Obama himself comes from the Senate.  He tapped Joe Biden for VP.  Hillary Clinton for Secretary of State.  And now Ken Salazar from Colorado as Secretary of Interior!   I guess the running total is four; I keep thinking of Daschle who used to be a Senator.

Not to mention all the Governors that have been named….Richardson, Napolitano…

And lets not forget my own personal favorite…Rahm Emanuel from the House.

Anyone else wondering how many elections are going to have to be held as a result???

See All Black Men are the Same…

Well…according to the headline in Essence by Wendy Wilson…  “Could Michael S. Steele be the Republican Barack?

I want to start by saying I find this to be one of the most ignorant headlines I’ve read in quite a while, and that’s saying a lot considering the road our media goes down!  What on earth do Barack Obama and Michael Steele have in common?

     1.  They are both men.

     2.  They are both black…or African American…

     3.  They are both politicians…although Barack Obama is a successful politician…Michael Steele, not so much!

     4.  I can’t think of any more…see STUPID HEADLINE!

The article goes on to say few even know who Michael Steele is.  Well…DUH, He lost!  No one remembers the losers!  And if you are from the DC Metro area all you might remember is that Michaeal Steele might like puppies, but he LOVES George Bush!  hahaha.  Those ads were a good time!

The article goes on to say that because he’s running for the Chair of the RNC, he’s the most recognized Black Conservative in the Nation.  HUH?  Again, do that many people (besides political dorks like me) really follow who the Chair of the RNC is?  Uh, I think not!  I’m thinking if you asked for the most recognized black conservative/Republican in the country you’d get Colin Powell, but that’s just me!  Maybe even Condoleeza Rice.  See, the author of this article is stupid.  I wonder if she’s paid by the word and that’s why she added all this garbage!

The article then goes on to ask Michael S. Steele, as she repeatedly calls him, a myriad of questions.  I could go through his moronic responses and make fun of him too, but that’s like shooting fish in a barrel, so I’ll let him off easy.

Complete Crazy Unleashed…

Apparently there are a number of groups who are challenging whether President Elect Obama is a natural US citizen.  Huh?  Yeah, exactly.  This seems to be pretty ridiculous to me.  However, they are getting some media traction, as the Politico ran the article I’ve pasted below today.

There are two lawsuits challenging Obama’s legitimacy of citizenship.

     1.  One such lawsuit alleges that because his father was Kenyan and under British rule, he’d have been born with dual citizenship.

     2.  The other contends that he wasn’t born on American soil at all.  Philip J. Berg has filed suit claiming Barack Obama was really born in Kenya, not Hawaii.  He also claims his Hawaiian birth certificate looks fake.  So being the super slueth that I am, I pulled out my daughter’s birth certificate.  See, she was born in Hawaii.  Looks the same to me…so I’m not sure what Mr. Berg is trying to pull.  Now the birth certificate definitely looks different from mine, I was born in Iowa…but again I want to stress it looks exactly like my daughters.  So I’m a little unclear as to what is fake about it!  However Justice Clarence Thomas has passed this already reject suit around the court, so we’ll see if this goes any further.  You really gotta hand it to Clarence Thomas.

Well this should be a good time for all I’m sure.  I would also like to point out one of the crazies promoting this is a former Swift Boater…and boy we know how honest they were now don’t we?!

Good Reading…

So I mentioned earlier that I bought Obama’s book, “The Audacityof Hope”.  I am really enjoying it.  I chuckled to myself reading about the clipped conversations between him and his wife.  Not that I enjoyed their troubles, but the fact that they seemed to have had some of the same issues my family has had.  My husband works in politics, and is gone what seems to be ALL the time!  We do pretty good for a while, and then whammo it really hits the fan.  I’ll admit I get tired of being a single working housekeeping married woman!  Then I become short tempered and bitter.  I begin to rail at a husband I truly love.  It begins a game of listing everything the other person has ever done wrong.  We all know where that leads…no where good!  Apparently Michelle Obama had some frustration with that as well, and it made the soon to be First Couple a little more real to me!  All I could think of was, take that frustration, add two lawyers to the mix, and imagine what their arguments must have been like!

As I read on, I came to this great quote.  It is something I’ve thought about or complained about a million times these last 8 years.

“I imagine they (the American people) are waiting for a politcs with the maturity to balance idealism and realism, to distinguish between what can and cannot be compromised, to admit the possibility that the other side may sometimes have a point.  They don’t always understand the arguments between the right and left, conservative and liberal, but they recognize the difference between dogma and common sense, responsibility and irresponsibility, between those things that last and those that are fleeting.”

“They are out there, waiting for Republicans and Democrats to catch up with them.”

How many of us have felt that way?  How many of us are so frustrated with the political system and sniping we either find ourselves incredibly angry or have just completely disengaged?  Too many of us, for sure.  I myself am guilty of being angry and hateful at times.

I am hoping he leads with the thoughtfulness of the beginning of his book.  We can only wait and see.

Interestingly enough I just bought Obama’s book “The Audacity of Hope”.  I’m about 15 pages in, and it’s a pretty good read so far.  I would also recommend Joe Biden’s as well.  I read that about a year ago.

I’ve pasted an email from Team Obama.  I think it looks like a good time.  Check it out.

This week, President-elect Barack Obama is announcing the key members of his White House economic team who will help him tackle serious challenges and bring the change we need to Washington.

But there’s still a lot of work to be done in communities all across the country — including yours.

On December 13th and 14th, supporters are coming together to reflect on what we’ve accomplished and help plan the future of this movement.

Many of you have already submitted your feedback through our online survey. Our team in Chicago is reviewing an impressive number of detailed responses, and your input will help guide the future of this grassroots movement.

Sign up to host a Change is Coming house meeting and invite your friends, family, and neighbors to attend.

You’ll receive everything you need to make your meeting a success, including a special DVD our team put together just for these events.

Discuss the issues that are most important to you, what you can do to support Barack’s agenda, and how you can continue to make an impact in your community.

Now is the time to put aside partisanship and politics, find common ground, and work together. Please invite those who might not have been involved in the campaign, even those who might have supported our opponent.

The challenges we face demand we be as inclusive as possible. It’ll take the whole country working together to get our country back on track.

Host a party to celebrate our historic achievement and take the next steps to bring the change our country needs:

Your continued involvement is crucial to the future of this movement.

As Barack said on Election Night, “This victory alone is not the change we seek — it is only the chance for us to make that change.”

The grassroots organization you built to win the election will continue to set our country on a new path.

Thank you for everything you’re doing,
