Terry McAuliffe Puts a Toe in…
That’s right. Hillary Clinton’s former campaign chairman and DNC Chairman has filed papers to set up a campaign committee to run for governor right here in my great state of Virginia.
I told you this was going to get interesting!

Virginia’s Governor’s Race could get Interesting…
Well Virignia has a governor’s race coming up in 2009. While the rest of the country is either still counting 2008 votes, or talking about 2010 and 2012 we’ve got a race that is beginning to show signs of life.
Apparently the Republican running is Robert F. McDonnell. He is a fiscal and social conservative. On my side of the fence we’ve got Brian Moran, Creigh Deeds, and Terry McAuliffe (?) contemplating a run. I’ve got a feeling this could get very very interesting.
I wonder though, now that Virignia’s gone blue…can it go back?! Lets hope not! I guess I’ve got some research to do in the next few weeks!

Finally Virginia is Officially BLUE!!
Whew. I’m watching with Holly (of Holly and Alyssa’s Excellent Campaign Adventures) and we are feeling pretty good right now! We’ve done some campaigning and we are feeling victorious!!
By the way…at my voting place a woman there was talking about how she woke up and found her door hanger. Guess what, after asking her where she lived…it was where my daughter and I left door hangers!
If anyone ever tells you one person can’t make a difference, I say HELL yes they can. Change…now playing in theaters across the country!!
Barack Obama is the next President of the United States. Thank God!
Virginia…Finally Doing Me Proud!
Okay…we’re starting to pull away in Virginia…they haven’t called it, but I am feeling much better.
And my boy Franken in Minnesota is doing better! He’s leading, but there’s a lot to go tonight!

Well this has brought out so many feelings in me…
First off my husband and I do not see eye to eye when it comes to politics. He works in the political arena…meaning we have been “campaigning” for the last 18 months. Seriously…I have often felt that this election was never going to come. I’ll be grateful to have his Republican ass at home…so I can gloat!
Now, it’s very exciting tonight to see Obama sweeping the nation. Big wins for us in Ohio and probably Florida…we shall see. I am still waiting to see if my state of Virginia does me proud. The damn polls have been closed for over 2 1/2 hours and we don’t know the outcome. Count the bleeping votes already!
I am disappointed to see my hope of a clear majority in the Senate not coming true. Although, that majority would have been counting that bastard Lieberman…so…you do the math. I say kick his ass out of our anything. That traitor can take a hike. I would like to remind people that the two Maine “RHINOs” (Collins and Snowe) will hopefully vote with us!
Quite honestly, I don’t know about anyone else, but I am EXHAUSTED.
Warner Wins Virignia…
Not a shocker…but first state on our way to 60!

What’s up with those not so red anymore states? That seems to be the question on everyone’s minds.
I live in one of them, Virginia. I actually just made what I assume is my last volunteer effort for the Obama-Biden/Warner/Connolly tickets today. A last minute literature drop on doors. Now this should have been quick and painless. It’s a door hang and you are out…however I didn’t make it till about 5:30 PM. UGH! Have you ever tried to find houses in the dark? It’s not a good time! We did manage to finish our packet, and I’m calling it a wrap. I hope it was enough.
States to keep an eye on: Virginia, Georgia, and Indiana. All will have numbers out early. All three were thought to be Republican strongholds. Virignia is showing Barack Obama with about an 8 point lead (depending on your poll), and the other two states are close. We NEED one to go blue!! Two would be great! And three would mean I could pop open a bottle of super cheap champagne, drink a fair amount, go to bed, and then wake up on November 5th with a hangover, but delighted.
So go vote Virginia! I want my home state to be the first “red state” to be a “blue state” tomorrow night!!!

Who would have thought? Not I! Democratic challenger Ronnie Musgrove is giving Roger Wicker a run for his money in the state of Mississippi.
So we’ve got how many Republican seats in trouble now??? Lets see…Georgia, Kentucky, Alaska, New Hampshire, Virginia, Colorado, New Mexico, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oregon…and now Mississippi.
Who’s next? Oklahoma? Maine? Nebraska?

Blue states, red state, and purple states…Oh my. This reminds me of the time I made a political map. Now my hubby is a big Republican (yeah I know YUCK, but he’s a good guy so I’ll keep him), so I made this map and sent it to him. I made the entire country blue, except Utah. When he asked why I’d bothered to leave Utah blue, I told him I didn’t want it and I’d let him have it.
These are exciting times for me. I never thought I’d get to see a map as blue as it is (with the exception of the one I made)!!
Barack Obama has an 8 point lead in Colorado. I knew they’d come around. A friend of mine in the state of Colorado has to be pretty happy about that. Those were her llamas I posted earlier. Thanks again Teri for the great pics!! Llamas for Obama, how do you not like that??
Even Indiana is a toss up at this point. I have to say I’m kind of suprised by that one!!
And have I mentioned that Virginia is going blue this election! Whoo hoo baby whoo hoo!!!
