And I honestly can’t say I’m sorry. If you can’t quite place who Representative Jefferson is…remember the guy who took the money from the FBI? Then when the FBI raided his home they found the money in the freezer? Well that would be him.
Jefferson has pleaded not guilty to 16 counts of racketeering, bribery, money laundering and obstruction of justice. Which I’m sure is what his lawyers are urging. I don’t know why he even ran again. He should have stepped aside and let someone else run on the Democratic ticket. Perhaps I wouldn’t have to feel joy that Anh Cao the Republican challenger won that seat.
I truly believe if the Democrats want to remain in power we have got to lose some of the dead weight. Think of the Republicans and what their scandal-mongers did for them…ie…Ted Stevens, Duke Cunningham, Mark Foley, and Tom DeLay.
In the spirit of a new tomorrow I also believe it is time for Charlie Rangel to resign. I think like Ted Stevens, Mr. Rangel probably started out with good intentions. Like Mr. Stevens, I believe Mr. Rangel probably has done a lot for his district. However at this point, he’s mired in scandal. Rent controlled apartments, taxes, and now this deal with his son. I urge him to hand over the reigns to someone young, fresh, and ready to see real change.

News reports are claiming Begich wins Alaska. Convicted Felon Ted Stevens seems to be toast…perhaps he can work on getting President Bush to grant him that pardon.
60 Senate Seats…getting closer and closer.

Okay. Just when I thought we were done, I’ve realized we are not! WHOO HOO!!
I earlier called Alaska for convicted felon (isn’t that fun?) Ted Stevens, but Begich is gaining steadily. He is now leading by 2,374 votes. Alaska…I’m getting prouder by the count.

In addition, we have a Senate run off in Georgia. Jim Martin is seeking to upset the Republican Party’s nasty Saxby Chambliss. Yeah, I hate that guy. I know I’ve mentioned it before, but it really doesn’t get old for me. I’ve also mentioned every Democrat possible should get their behinds to Georgia to give Jim Martin a hand…and that includes our President Elect Barack Obama.

And the final race to reach 60 brings me to one of my favorite states, Minnesota. This is Paul Wellstone’s seat. It will always be Senator Wellstone’s seat to me. They are currently getting ready to start the recount between Al Franken (I’ll admit I’m a fan…love that guy’s books) and Norm the suit wearing worm Coleman. Now from what I hear the recount may favor Franken. Apparently the districts with issues are Franken friendly territory, so keep your fingers crossed!

So…we need Alaska, Georgia, and Minnesota to see our dream of 60 come true. Keep your fingers crossed…or better yet, uncross those fingers and make some phone calls!!!

Mark Begich is gaining on convicted felon Ted Stevens for the Senate seat up for grabs in Alaska. How sad is it that this popular and successful mayor is not kicking old balls ass?
FYI, he leads by 1022 votes with approximately 25,000 left to be counted.

I’ll admit, a few days ago I had thought Ted Stevens had won the Senate race is Alaska. Stevens, if you didn’t know -ha-ha- has been convicted on seven (7) felony counts. It appears though with approximately 40,000 votes to be still counted Mark Begich is leading by 806 votes.
Begich is the popular Mayor of Anchorage. He was first elected in 2003 and was reelected in 2006 by a healthy margin.

Apparently there are approximately 45,000 votes still to be counted in Alaska. Fox is claiming Mark Begich has taken a 3 vote lead over convicted felon Ted Stevens.
First off, read that again! Convicted FELON! Seven felony accounts!
I also would like to point out I got this from FOX NEWS, so I’m not entirely sure it’s accurate!
My last point to be made, lets all cross our fingers Begich wins…or we could end up listening to Sarah for the next 6 years in the Senate. YIKES!!

How do you expel a senator?
I bet one person who knows the answer to that question is Alaska’s own Ted Stevens! A vote is required and two-thirds of its members must vote to expel. On a side note, I’ll be amazed that two-thirds of that group can agree on anything!
Last Senator to be expelled from the Senate?
Robert Packwood of Oregon in 1995.

Reid vows to give Ted Stevens the heave-ho. Apparently the Senate is no place for felons…this is where I chuckle. Just despots and charlatans? Sorry, couldn’t resist. Interestingly enough the people of Alaska voted Stevens back for another term. What on earth were they thinking?

I know I’ve already gone over the fact that some IDIOTS in the state of Alaska voted for a convicted Ted Stevens…but I wanted to share with everyone that they were not alone! Michelle Bachmann wins reelection in Minnesota in the 6th Congressional District.
Remember this bimbo claimed Obama and liberals were Anti-American. She also called for the press to begin an investigation of her fellow Congress Members to root out the other Anti-Americans. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

Okay. Seriously. WTF is wrong with the people of Alaska. And I’m not talking about the people who voted for Mark Begich. I mean you really gotta hand it to Republicans in Alaska. You just elected a man convicted of seven, I repeat seven, charges of violating federal ethics laws. Well done.
And I haven’t even mentioned Sarah Palin… Need I say more?!
