And the Democrats are holding their breath to see if they can get to 60! Team Franken is claiming to be within 50 votes of freshman Republican Norm Coleman. Coleman won in 2002, after Senator Paul Wellstone’s plane went down. To me, and other Wellstone fans, that will always be his seat. In my mind, had Senator Wellstone lived, there’d be no Norm Coleman to beat.
Naturally the Coleman team is claiming the count is much more in his favor.
I guess we’ll have to wait and see how many votes are tossed, and how many uncounted absentee ballots actually get counted.
